PCHS Students - The Profession Connection is for you!  This is a student-centric program, designed to open up opportunities for you to make the most of your high school education, and to help you plan your future beyond high school.  This is a new program, sponsored by the Education Foundation, and the Long Term Strategic Planning Committee.  At this point, the program is supported exclusively by a small group of parent volunteers on behalf of the Education Foundation.

Once the program is fully operational, it will include the following key features:
Job application skills

Job search tips & resources
Matching with potential mentors, job shadow days, internships & employment
Networking opportunities

Follow-up from 4/21 Seminar:

Thanks to all students who attended our kick-off seminar to sign-up for areas of interest, and/or to attend the presentation by our recruiting professionals.  We were very happy with the level of participation and engagement by the student community; it has helped us to define the resources we’ll need to support the program.

You may access the kick-off seminar's PowerPoint presentation here:

NEXT STEP: In the coming weeks, we’ll be doing all of the following:

  •     Create a data base to include all information from the 4/21 sign-ups;
  •     Contract with a recruiting/career services professional to jump start the program (supported by Education Foundation funds)
  •     Review resumes from current students looking for placements/guidance
  •     Match students with existing mentoring/job shadow/internship opportunities
  •     Outreach to local businesses and professionals to expand potential placement options
  •     Expand resource materials on website
  •     Arrange for networking workshops to connect students with professionals in field of interest

We have an interesting array of opportunities for students based on our recent outreach efforts.  We will place as many students as possible, and continue to work on placements throughout the summer and into next year.  Eventually, we hope to have an interactive database and a wide network of corporate participants, which will make the placement process more efficient.

We urge students to utilize the guidance provided during the 4/21 seminar, use information that will be posted on the website, and reach out to us at pchseducate@gmail.com if you have a question.
