California Scholarship Federation (CSF)

What is CSF?
CSF is a statewide organization of educational administrators that recognizes consistent academic excellence throughout high school.
Sign-ups for California Scholarship Federation (CSF) Sealbearer Status, based on last spring’s grades, will take place every day at lunch from Monday, September 17, 2018 through Friday, October 12, 2018, in Mr. Mittelbach’s room, J122.
From Monday, September 17 until Friday, October 12:
  • Students should bring a print-out of their transcript with last Spring’s and Fall’s grades, which is available for pick up from the Counseling Office or College center.
  • A check or money order made out to “PCHS” for $3 in dues per semester (either $3 or $6) to defray the cost of gold Sealbearer ropes at graduation. No cash will be accepted this year
To qualify for Sealbearer status at graduation:
  • Students must have been eligible in four of their final six semesters of high school (sophomore, junior, and senior years),
    • Including at least one semester senior year.
  • Students must also sign up each semester of eligibility
To qualify in a semester:
  • Students must have a total of ten “points” in their final academic grades for the semester
    • A’s = 3 points
    • B’s = 1 point
  • Students must have up to two Honors or AP classes per semester equaling 1 point each.
  • Grades in PE, Service, Tutoring, Work Experience, and summer school do not count for CSF eligibility
  • D’s and/or F’s renders the student ineligible for that semester
Things to know:
  • Students on free and reduced lunch should write “F/R L” at the top of their transcript and the dues will be waived.
  • Sophomores this semester should bring last spring’s grades for Junior CSF membership with the fee waived
  • Ninth grade doesn’t count for high-school Sealbearer status under CSF rules.
    • Freshmen may start signing up next semester as Junior Sealbearers, with no dues required.
